Anthropologists have studied humankind all over the world for hundreds of years. Even before the scientific studies of humankind began people were curious about other peoples around them. Travel is quite an educator. Anthropologists' fieldwork has been instrumental in helping us see ourselves from worldwide perspectives.

Student Digital Storytelling
Research topics, digital stories, and other projects posted by CCC students from instructions in course.
Digital Story student productions usually use iMovie for Mac or Moviemaker for PC that are free downloads. Three minutes is the typical length, personal voice over telling about a place of choice, music in the background. Student productions are published to youtube or vimeo then shared using embed code for future students to view too.
There are quides to digital storytelling online at places like

If you need help using Windows Movie Maker this is a good tutorial:

Javier MarinThe Road to Becoming A Game Warden

I started working with The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism in May of 2018. My mom inspired me to want to work in a field of wildlife study, because I always enjoyed being outside, and love to hunt and fish in my free time. While working with the wildlife and parks I have got to experience many new things that I had never done before or even thought about. During the summer is when I am busiest at work I am in charge of posting public hunting land in the nine northwest counties of Kansas. By posting the public hunting ground I ride on a four wheeler through the tracts and make sure the signs and boundaries are proper for the fall hunting season. With this job I get to see a lot of new areas and tons of wildlife everyday. I have also went to southwest Kansas down to the Cimmaron grasslands in Elkhart, KS to help with prairie chicken surveys. There I learned how to do Telemetry, and I used that skill to track prairie chickens. I have also helped out with aerial pronghorn surveys in northwest Kansas. The district wildlife biologist and a few other people as well as myself went into a small four person plane and flew low to the ground to get a count on the pronghorn numbers. Also during the fall I help my boss run deer spotlight surveys at night to help find the numbers on deer in an approximant area. The Colby district office is soon to be built just north of Colby across the railroad tracts, I spent all last winter helping prepare the property by cutting down a huge amount of trees, as well as mowing and planting shrubs. The idea is for the office to be built in the spring, the property is a very beautiful area, where part of it is open to the public and the other part being a wildlife refuge.

Cultural anthropology Wrestling Wrestling is a sport that is widely known around the world. It is a sport that’s been in the modern Olympic Games since 1896. The first and only style of wrestling featured in the Olympics was Greco roman until 1904, when freestyle wrestling and weight classes both made their first appearance. In 2013 the IOC (international olympic committee) voted to drop wrestling from the summer olympics by 2020 due to size and costs in an attempt to make the games “relevant to sports fans of all generations.” A couple reasons behind their decision included the lack of universally-known talent and a concern for the lack of women's competitions in wrestling. With change of leadership in united world wrestling (UWW) and growing popularity and more universally known athletes such as Kyle Snyder, Jordan burroughs, Bajrang Punia, and Abdulrashid Sadulaev, wrestling has been reinstated in the 2020 olympics. Styles of wrestlingThe three styles of wrestling are greco roman, freestyle, and folkstyle (also known as collegiate). Freestyle and greco roman are the most common styles wrestled around the world and in the olympics. Folkstyle is a style only wrestled in the united states from sixth grade until you're done with college. The main difference between these three styles is how you score your points. FreestyleWhen you wrestle freestyle you can score 1, 2, 4, or 5 depending on the move. When you push your opponent outside if the circle its one point. If you take the other wrestler down you can either score two, four, or five depending on how you do it. A normal takedown is two, a feet to back takedown is four, and a big throw is five. The only other way to score points in freestyle is to expose the other wrestlers back to the mat and in that case you would score two points. Greco RomanScoring points in greco roman wrestling is very similar in freestyle, in fact it's exactly the same. The huge difference between greco roman and every other style of wrestling is that you aren't allowed to touch your opponents legs. In the event that you touch your opponents legs you are first warned not to do it again and after that you would be awarding a point to the other wrestler. Greco roman is all about big throws and highest scoring points. FolkstyleFolkstyle, also known as collegiate is a lot more technical style of wrestling. In folkstyle unlike freestyle and greco once you get taken down you must get away in order to score any more points before the period ends. In folkstyle a takedown is two, an escape is one, and the only other way to score is by exposing your opponents back at a forty-five degree angle with the mat for 2 seconds or more. Cultural significanceWrestling is very significant to our culture considering it is one of the oldest forms of combat used. Wrestling was used in the Iliad and depicted in 15,000-year-old cave drawings. In ancient Greece wrestling was always popular in the Olympic Games and was developed by the ancient Greeks as a way to train soldiers in hand to hand combat. During the middle ages wrestling was popular as well and the sport was included in royal houses in France, Japan, and England. Much later the american settlers found that wrestling was also popular among the native american tribes. Sources Cited: https://www.athleticscholarships.net/history-of-wrestling.htm
