Anthropologists have studied humankind all over the world for hundreds of years. Even before the scientific studies of humankind began people were curious about other peoples around them. Travel is quite an educator. Anthropologists' fieldwork has been instrumental in helping us see ourselves from worldwide perspectives.

Race Without Color
“An important aspect of anthropologic thinking is examining ideas, beliefs, and values within their own cultural context”, said by Jared Diamond. Our own cultural ideas and concepts including scientific ones which are best understood under cultural frame work. ‘race’ is stereotyped or biological standpoint is a person’s ethnicity or skin color/tone. However, every country has their unique features that makes them different from other nations. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean two persons look alike. Or in other words, “Identical twins differ from others. Race goes’ beyond the biological standpoint or stereotypical words, we are more than just the naked eye reflection of complexion.
Race beyond Resistance
Universally we divide our races between geographic location and physical characteristics. However, division is presence but absence genes such as sickle cell confers resistance to malaria which not every country has. For example, if persons who live outside Africa, Southeast Asia, New Guiana, Italy and Greece without the antibacterial genes would become a target of the disease. That’s why if human races were dominant by antibacterial gene, their would not be a balance in the world
Race beyond Digestion
You may believe that everyone throughout the world is can tolerate consuming milk. However, there are the lactose tolerant race. Digestion is universal. Not every cultural or country eats the same thing. Or not everyone can handle the same food. Simple as milk. Milk goes great with cereal, smoothie, oatmeal and even with plain Kraft Mac n Cheese or pasta mac n cheese, etc. Nevertheless, not everyone can use milk to accommodate those examples except using substitutes. These include water, soy milk, almond milk, and cream for they have various percentage of milk or no form of milk product in them. Or on the other hand, the certain meats or snacks we eat can cause use the digestion system to react differently. This internationally known as allergies. If one is allergic, it can cause one name anaphylaxis that immediately reacts once any form of red meat (for example steak) is ingested. Simple as what we eat or drink makes us different beyond skin tone because even people of opposite skin tones can have the same allergy affect.
Race beyond Fingerprints
Although race is stereotyped as skin complexion, we have a division in humans[ which results that human beings are unique and not alike throughout family generations. Fingerprints distinguish family members, people, and race. Everyone is born with different fingerprints that can be distinguish. Yet, fingerprints can have similar patterns. These patterns include, arches, loops and whorls. You may have never thought that fingertips can distinguish human beings. Ever wonder why government officials like police, passport officers or any national document require your finger prints. Or after a murder or robbery crime scenes, why do you think they look for fingerprints. This in case if your fingerprint is in the system, they’ll know who the culprit is.
Race beyond Genes
Understanding that countries that have tropical climates or closer to equator line has darker skin tones. Race is resembled as skin complexion, but specific race can handle certain climate. For example, Caribbean or persons of the South America continent have darker skin tones that can handle hot temperature and sun rays. If someone of the North America, Asia or Europe continent travels to the hotter countries their skin reaction is different. Sunburn of skin is common for tourist and negatively fainting from dehydration. Or vice versa hotter climate citizens traveling to winter known countries would experience limited body heat do to the below temperature. Genetics play a role through our hair type, complexion, eye color, etc.
In conclusion, race is not only a complexion, but has its unique features that makes every human being who they are. By the way they act, attitude, habits, family quirks, culture practices. Universally the word ‘Race’ is skin complexion and different culture and countries diverse from one another. Yet, race is under rated because human beings don’t belong to a designated complexion group, but everyone human being from baby to the elderly have their own body code from their fingerprints, digestion system etc.
Student Digital Storytelling
Research topics, digital stories, and other projects posted by CCC students from instructions in course.
Digital Story student productions usually use iMovie for Mac or Moviemaker for PC that are free downloads. Three minutes is the typical length, personal voice over telling about a place of choice, music in the background. Student productions are published to youtube or vimeo then shared using embed code for future students to view too.
There are quides to digital storytelling online at places like
Your posted work here is a personal, virtual reflection, your sense of place in the world today and/or the past/future experiences of culture important to you. Your posted work will be public, indefinitely, on the internet.
